Nintendo Switch has sold about 90 million units
Nintendo noted a slight decrease in its earnings for the first fiscal quarter ended June 30. The company, which made a big profit during the Covid-19 pandemic, saw a slight decline in sales after the outbreak eased. Despite this, Nintendo announced that the console has sold 89 million units to date. The epidemic, both in terms of revenue and profit, allowed most companies to achieve success. Switch's sales totaled 4.45 million units in the first fiscal quarter, down 21.7 percent from a year earlier.

Sales of consoles, applications and games fell 10.2 percent to 45.29 million. The company's revenue for the first fiscal quarter was $2.94 billion, down 9.9 percent, while its profit was $1.09 billion, down 17.3 percent. Nintendo had the advantage of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which sold 10 million copies in the first fiscal quarter of 2020. There was no major production for the console this year. The new Pokémon Snap has sold 2.07 million copies outside Japan, and Mario Golf: Super Rush has sold 1.34 million copies.

Nintendo's new console, the Nintendo Switch OLED, is scheduled to be released in October.
